The government and health officials are telling us that this upcoming week will be the worst as far as deaths from the Coronavirus. This week is also the week of Passover. Is that a coincidence?
“ And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning. For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.“
– Exodus 12:22-23
During the Passover, the angel of death was going throughout the land. The people of God were commanded to make a sacrifice and stay within their homes until the plague had passed. God tells His people that when He sees the blood on the doorpost, the Lord will not allow the destroyer to go into their homes.
What’s The Sacrifice?
Every person is in a different season of their life. Therefore, the sacrifice will differ from household to household. Here are some of the potential cases that call for sacrifice:
- People who were too distracted by their work to worship God.
- Those who put church services and religious works over their relationship with God.
- People who were neglecting their families.
- Those who put their families in the position of God over their lives.
- Idols can appear in all shapes and sizes: money, material items, selfishness, work, families, and anything else that takes the place of God.
During this time, tear down any idols in your life and seek God like never before.
Is there anything in your life that you’ve been neglecting? Now is the time to make it right and get started in the right direction.
After The Plague
When the plague was lifted from Egypt, God’s people started their journey to the Promised Land. I believe after this time of sacrifice and sickness, the people of God will rise and be ready to begin a revival. God is sifting the wheat and separating His chosen from those who are called.
Don’t miss what God is going to do through all this. Do not be overcome with fear and watch for what the Lord is going to do.
God bless you all and be safe!
