Marriage is a wonderful blessing when it’s ordained by God. We all want our children to find the perfect spouse; someone who will push them more toward God and love them on difficult days. It’s never too early to begin praying for your child’s marriage. Below is a prayer for your child to find the perfect spouse.

The enemy would love to steal our children’s hearts and minds away from God. A godly spouse helps preserve and flourish a healthy walk with God. Therefore, one of the most important things we could pray for is for their future spouse.

For Boys

Lord,

Unless You have a plan for (name of child) to be single, then I pray for You to send him the perfect spouse for him.

Send him the perfect wife at the right time and allow him to hear Your voice in confirmation.

Give him the strength to ignore lusty, fleshy desires and instead be lead by You and Your will.

I pray he will trust in You fully and completely.

Prepare my son’s spouse in order for them to have a successful marriage.

Help my son to discern the difference between feeling love and knowing without a doubt their spouse is the one You created for them.

If he becomes attracted to anyone other than the handpicked spouse You chose, remove that relationship from his life.

Teach him the importance of having a godly foundation in a marriage.

I pray his spouse would love You with all their heart and be obedient to You.

Don’t allow the spirit of divorce to creep into their relationship once they’re married.

Keep any evil spirits out of their marriage including separation, divorce, mental abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse.

May he only have one lover for life who will become his best friend.

I pray they will be loving, forgiving, supporting, caring, affectionate, sensitive, considerate, compassionate, and loyal to one another all their days together.
