I remember many years ago, I held the common belief that all teenagers rebel against their parents. However, that’s a great lie of Satan and it’s constantly repeated.
Rebellion originated with the enemy when he and one-third of the angels decided to rebel against God. When I learned that children shouldn’t rebel against their parents, I was shocked. No one had ever told me that before. The person who told me had four adult children who were all God-fearing, kind, and compassionate people.
That’s when I decided to make sure I do the same with my children. Rebellion, pride, and selfishness are all tactics used by the enemy to steal our children’s destiny. We cannot allow that to happen. This is a prayer for your child to resist rebellion.
For Boys
Lord,
I pray for my child, (name of child).
Give him a heart that loves your Word and a deep desire to be obedient to You.
May he fall in love with You and spend time in prayer daily.
If there is any rebellion in his heart, please let it be revealed and deliver him from it.
Give me the wisdom to squash and destroy any root of rebellion in his life.
Protect my child from selfishness and pride, which your Word indicates would lead to a fall.
Through the power of the name of Jesus, I resist rebellion and idolatry.
They will have no place in this household nor in the life of my child.
Show him how to identify demonic influences and cast them out.
Give him the courage to do what is right when others do what is wrong.
I pray that he would present his life as a living sacrifice unto you and will glorify You in all his ways.
