ivveleth- silliness, foolishness.

This noun can mean “foolishness” in the sense of violating God’s law or “sin” (Psalm 38:5).

Ivveleth also describes the life-style and activities of a person who ignores the instructions of wisdom (Proverbs 5:23).

It can be used in the sense of “thoughtless”. Therefore, it can be used to describe the way a young person is prone to act (Proverbs 22:15).

The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly,
But the mouth of fools pours forth54e.”

cakal- to be silly.

cikluwth- silliness.

aphrosune- senselessness.

This word is translated into the following ways:

  • foolishness (Mark 7:22)
  • folly (2 Corinthians 11:1)
  • foolishly (2 Corinthians 11:17)

moria- abdurdity; foolishness.

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

– 1 Corinthians 1:18

moros- heedless, moral blockhead.

This can be translated as stupid or foolish.

 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.”

– 1 Corinthians 3:18
