Make no mistake, the war we’re in is very real. Although invisible, this war is one of the most crucial things we must partake in as a believer of Christ. We cannot allow the enemy to gain territory into our lives and must fight the good fight of faith. That being said, here are 5 necessities to win in spiritual warfare.
#1. Submit to God and His ways.
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
– James 4:7
Submitting yourself to God can be one of the most difficult things for a person to do. It’s what happened in the garden of Gethsemane. Jesus was pleading with God to remove the cup He was about to endure from Him. Yet, He submitted to God and said, “Not My will, but Yours be done.”
We must come to that point in our walk with God if we want to be successful in fighting against the spiritual powers of the kingdom of darkness. There are many reasons for this:
- We have to fight the way God tells us to.
- As believers, we must obey His word and stay as far away from sin as possible.
- We have to believe the Word of God and apply it.
After my first encounter with a demon, I must admit I backslid a little. To be honest, I was absolutely terrified of seeing something like that again. I dealt with spiritual attacks afterward for quite a while and just wanted it all to go away.
However, years later began studying spiritual warfare in-depth and learned more about demons and how the devil operates. Not only that, but I had a true revelation about the scripture that says: “He who is in you is greater than He who is in the world.”
Not only did I realize the intensity of the spiritual situation we’re in, but I finally submitted to God and said, “Okay.”
After spending a good amount of time studying, I must admit I’m not afraid of demons anymore. Also, I began to notice demonic activity even among Christians. It’s a troubling thing to see, but if people don’t know the enemy and his tactics, they will fall to be his prey.

Throughout my walk with God, I’ve learned and seen many things. In this article, I want to talk about the day I came face to face with a demon of fear.
There was a moment in time when I kept facing spiritual warfare in my dreams. Every night I would have these horrible dreams of demons and wouldn’t be able to wake up. This encounter occurred during that period of time.
What I Saw
I don’t remember having a horrible dream that night, but I do remember waking up. I was half asleep and I saw someone pacing back and forth in my room. They were dressed like an old lady with a long dress and a sun hat. They were looking down and whispering to themselves.
Immediately, I heard the Holy Spirit say, “That’s a demon, you need to cast it out.” Read more
