There’s no doubt that God is great to His people. He’s always faithful to us. He loves us. Therefore, there are so many things we can praise and give thanks for. Yet, it can be difficult to express your gratitude if you don’t know what to thank Him for. Luckily, there are many things to be thankful for once you begin looking. You can use this post as a guide if you need to in order to begin giving praise and thanks to God every day.
All scriptures are taken from the NKJV unless otherwise noted.
“Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.”
– Jeremiah 33:6
There’s no doubt that good health is a gift from God. Therefore, it only makes sense to praise Him if you’re in good health. Even if there’s an issue with your health, your life is valuable so you can always thank God that you’re alive.
Being sick is a horrible feeling. Every day that you wake up feeling great is a day you should praise and worship God for your health. Having a body that’s in good health and works great makes life more enjoyable.
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.”
– Psalm 127:3-5
When you have a family who loves each other and gets along, that’s truly a blessing. Many people suffer from not having a functional family or the abandonment of a parent. If you’re not suffering from one of those, consider yourself blessed and praise God.
However, if you are suffering in your family you can still praise God. In families, there is usually one person you can relate to and talk to. Be grateful for that person. If you’ve missed out on a parent or two, know that God has adopted you and is your Father.
Children are such a blessing and they can bring great joy. Celebrate your children and do all you can to spend quality time with them. Praise God that He’s blessed you with such wonderful children.
“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them“
– Matthew 18:20
If you don’t have a family you can truly celebrate, then be grateful for your friends. In many cases, friends can be more respectable than family members. There are loving, caring people out there and if you have one as a friend, don’t neglect to thank God for them.
Unity is a blessing and is something to worship God for. Friends are enjoyable and can help you grow in your relationship with God. Always add them to your thanksgiving list.
Love & Romance
“How beautiful are your feet in sandals,
O prince’s daughter!
The curves of your thighs are like jewels,
The work of the hands of a skillful workman.”
– Song of Solomon 7:1
Love and romance are special. The way we feel when we’re with our spouse is a feeling like no other. Marriage is a representation of God’s relationship with the church. Therefore, it’s no surprise that we can feel very complete around our lover.
I thank God for my marriage every single day because I know that He was the one who set it all up. I’m truly blessed and I can’t go a day without praising God for that blessing. If God didn’t bring my spouse to me, I would have such a different life right now.
Praise God for this wonderful gift to be able to connect with the person we love in such a powerful way.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”
– James 1:17
We all have something we cherish. For me, it’s my book collection. My favorite book is the very first bible that was given to me. I thank God that I was given that book and the fact that I still have it.
Of course, there are other things I have that I’m thankful for. For example, if you have a car, clean water, indoor plumbing, shoes, a refrigerator, a bed, and a place to live that protects you from the outside elements, then you’re truly blessed. These may seem like basic things, but God has blessed you with them so praise Him for it.
An easy way to understand how great these things are is to just brainstorm for a second. Have you ever had to suffer from a power outage, maybe from a storm or another source? How did you feel? Didn’t it suck? Or did you ever have to go without a car? There are many people today who still don’t have vehicles. Be grateful if you have one.
Was there ever a time you had to sleep on something other than a comfortable bed? It’s not fun! Always spend time to thank God for the material possessions He’s allowed you to have.

“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
– Philippians 4:19
Our God is an awesome God and He loves His people. He always provides for our needs in one way or another. He’s worthy to be trusted and praised every day.
Remember all the times you prayed and God delivered? Thank Him for those times. He heard you and answered you. He’s a loving Father and good shepherd who will take care of His flock. He will always provide.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
– James 1:5
Every day God blesses us with is another opportunity to grow and achieve new heights. God gives wisdom to those who seek it. Be thankful for all the things God’s already taught you on your journey to learn new things.
The more you grow in wisdom, the better choices you will make. The better choices you make, the more enjoyable life will become for you. Praise God for allowing this to be so.
Faith & Salvation
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
– Ephesians 2:8-9
The best thing that ever happened to me was when I accepted Christ. I talked about how if God didn’t send me my husband, I wouldn’t have my wonderful children. However, if God didn’t save me then I wouldn’t have anything I have now.
I was on a road to nowhere great. God saved me from myself and from where I was going to end up. Without my salvation, I wouldn’t have the life I have now. Certainly, I wouldn’t have my husband or my children. God has been so gracious to me and I couldn’t imagine my life without my faith in God.
I didn’t deserve it and I wasn’t a noble person. However, God saved me anyway. How can I not praise, worship, and thank God for it?
I’m sure you feel the same way.
Never miss the chance to praise God for saving you and giving you a new life in Christ.
“All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”
– John 1:3
The world is so beautiful. Whenever I have an opportunity to spend time in nature, I always end up praising God. How can I not? The earth is so amazing. Even so, it’s only a glimpse into His creative mind of eternity. What is waiting for us in heaven? I can only imagine.
Praise God for His wonderful creations!
